Attorney Haas grew up on Long Island and obtained his undergraduate degree in Communications from Michigan State University in 1981. From there, he became involved in real estate but found the work to be unfulfilling. It was during this time he started to notice good people being mistreated by law enforcement. He heard countless stories of good people being bulldozed through the court system. Mr. Haas had a deep desire to prevent injustices and felt a calling to prevent the government’s abuse of authority. He decided to pursue this calling and attended Nova Southeastern Law School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from law school in 1986 and was immediately hired as an assistant public defender in the Fort Lauderdale office.
As a public defender, attorney Haas honed his skills in the courtroom by working on a high volume of cases. He appeared in court daily, trying cases and arguing motions. He carried that same passion into his private practice and, 26 years later, continues to defend those who have been accused of committing crimes.
