Burglary Suspect Leaves Id at Crime Scene, Post Photos of Stolen Goods on Facebook

A burglary suspect was arrested after his ID was found at the crime scene.

Surveillance video showed two men breaking into a car dealership where they stole files, license plates, 44 car keys and four cars. When one of the suspects took his cell phone out of his pocket to use the flashlight, his ID card fell out as well. The owner of the dealership found it the next day as the investigator was taking fingerprints.

The man had gotten the ID card only a few weeks ago on the advice of his probation officer after he was released from prison. He was currently on probation for armed robbery.

In addition to leaving his ID at the scene, the suspect also posted photos of himself on Facebook with some of the stolen items the same night of the burglary. In the pictures, he is wearing the same clothing worn by one of the suspects in the surveillance video.

He was arrested and is being held without bond on charges of burglary causing damage over $1,000, grand theft and probation violations.
